5 Best Kips Bay Apartment Buildings

KBC Platinum 2 BR Jr - Terrace - at Kips Bay Court

It’s been a hot minute since we’ve showcased a neighborhood and the rental properties available in that neighborhood, so we decided to start doing that again, and keep to one of our New Year’s resolutions of being consistent, or whatever. That being said, we wanted to highlight Kips Bay, an often-overlooked neighborhood of Manhattan, with low crime, easy access to other parts of Manhattan and other boroughs, and plenty of great housing options. Here are our picks for 5 Best Kips Bay Apartment Buildings.

Starting off, we have Kips Bay Court at 490 Second Ave. The building has 112 units spread across twenty-eight floors, with a door attendant and elevator to boot, as well as a gym, for those of us who are trying (occasionally, counts) to being healthier in the New Year.

Kips Bay Court has apartments for families of all size, from studios to four bedrooms, oversized windows, some with private balconies, entirely pet friendly. The community also has an outdoor grilling area, a package service center, a parking garage, and a NYC nice-to-have: Heat and AC built in every unit. We think you’ll really like the spaciousness of the apartments as well as the accessibility to Trader Joe’s and public transit access.

Another option for high end luxury living lovers (try saying that five times!) is the Biltmore Plaza at 155 East 29th Street. This ode to the high life boasts 279 apartments across thirty floors, with all the door attendant/gym/garage amenities that a posh building like this usually has, as well as a pool. You’re guaranteed ample closet space, a ton of natural light, and a breakfast bar, regardless of what style of apartment you choose. You’ll love the personalized service offered as part of the experience of living here!

Next to make our list of 5 Best Kips Bay Apartment Buildings is one aptly named the Habitat, for those of us who are bog demons who rarely leave our apartments in these pandemic times. This building is the standard luxury door attendant, elevator, gym building, with great light, open views, and massive apartments.

Their apartments come standard with granite countertops, wood cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, and abundant closet space – the one bedrooms can also be turned into two bedrooms with pre-approved flex dividers. All the apartments have newly renovated bathrooms and kitchens, with tile, and are sure to wow you when you’re searching for your next Manhattan apartment!

We also love the Windsor Court building, off East 31st Street, in Kips Bay. First, you’re greeted with a beautiful roundabout in a paved courtyard. Then, when you walk in, the lobby is a throwback to old world opulence, reminiscent of the New York hotels in the 1980s – not dated, just classic. Residents also have access to a gym, a lush courtyard, a pool, a furnished roof deck, and breathtaking views of the city. Of course, for those who much prefer the sanctuary of their own space, they can have ample closet space, a galley kitchen, and stainless-steel appliances in their apartment as well.

Last but not least, we have The Lanthian at 377 East 33rd Street. This elegant building has spacious residences, many of which have riveting river and city views. The apartments feature stainless steel appliances, Shinnoki Granite Walnut Cabinets and Quartz Countertops. And, when you want out of your space (we all need a break from even the most beautiful apartment, these days), you can venture into the Resident Lounge, Conference Room, or stick to those New Years Resolutions with the Fitness Center or Yoga Room.

A bonus: We can’t help mentioning The Murray Hill, located at 115 East 34th Street. We know it’s not technically Kips Bay – but it’s right at the Murray Hill border, so if you do a good yoga stretch, you can touch Kips Bay. (And if you can’t, might we refer you to a class.) This is another doorman building with a gym and elevators, with many available one bedrooms. Packed with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, solid wood cabinetry, with the building itself also offering a tenant lounge, bicycle storage and a furnished roof deck for tenant use.

The bathrooms here also boast Italian Carrera marble, and the views of the city are stunning. We think that young professionals and those who like the idea of living in a quieter part of Manhattan will absolutely adore this building!
