Chelsea is arguably one of our most favorite neighborhoods in Manhattan and all of New York City, and it is easy to see why. The shopping, nightlife, art, and culture in the area make it impossible for Manhattanites to want to leave. Additionally, there are a few very Chelsea things that locals keep re-visiting, so to make your lives easier, we thought we would drop some of our favorite apartments near the Chelsea attractions we love.
Chelsea Market
First off, we all know it and love it, but Chelsea Market is one of the best things to happen to New York City, we said what we said. It brings together arts and culture, food and beverages, and shopping, and we are always down to grab a Rosemary Road donut at Doughnuttery after browsing at Anthropologie. And if you find that you have had enough wine at Chelsea Wine Vault, you can always stumble home to your apartment at 240 West 15th Street, just a block away from Chelsea Market. This pre-war building has high ceilings, a spacious layout, and hardwood floors also feature an eat-in kitchen and lovely city views.
Chelsea Flea Market
Our next favorite feature of Chelsea is the Chelsea Flea Market. This offshoot of the original Williamsburg Flea Market is super popular amongst locals for art, vintage, and design finds. If you are a vintage lover and want to live in the Chelsea area, instead of booking it to Brooklyn every time you need your antique fix, we recommend an apartment in the building at 104 West 17th Street. This is an elevator building with apartments that have ceiling fans, ample wall space, and open floor plans that allow you to customize the square footage to make it homey. The appliances are also stainless-steel appliances, sitting on hardwood floors, additional loft space for an art studio or a home office, or even storage.
High Line and Two Percent Gallery Tours
Of course, we cannot talk about our Chelsea favorites without mentioning the High Line, an aerial greenway that was built on an elevated part of the New York Central Railway. The park offers fantastic shots of the city as well as the Hudson and is wheelchair accessible. Nearby, we also recommend the Two Percent Gallery Tours as well – these are art tours that are anywhere from two to five hours and focus on the most exciting art in New York. You can go in groups of three to five and visit some of the best neighborhoods for art, but you will find that the best art is housed in Chelsea (we are a little biased).
We love the Chelsea Tower building for accommodations near the High Line and the Two Percent Gallery Tours. The building comes with a 24-hr. concierge in the lobby and a complete fitness center. The apartments are equipped with granite kitchens, marble baths, floor-to-ceiling windows, a water filtration system, and ample closet space with city views. Other amenities include an open kitchen, stainless steel appliances, and an open kitchen.
If you love Chelsea just as much as we do, let us know what other local Chelsea attractions you love!
